Sex Addiction Training

AASAT offers unique training, methodologies and treatment modalities for treating sexual addiction. The entire Sex Addiction Training Course is 47 hours long. The material is presented through DVD lectures and the training workbook and is reinforced through assignments. If you would like to become certified in the field of sex addiction therapy and meet the certification requirements, there is a certification exam you can take which allows you to demonstrate your depth of knowledge of the material.

Partners Recovery Training

AASAT offers partners recovery training in relation to sex addiction. This training goes into detail on how being in a relationship with a sex addict affects partners, their mindset, how they view the world around them, and their internal anger and fears. The AASAT Partners Recovery Training helps you understand how sex addiction affects partners and how you can empower them to find peace and healing.

If you would like to become certified in the field of partners recovery and meet the certification requirements, there is a certification exam you can take which allows you to demonstrate your depth of knowledge of the material.

Intimacy Anorexia Training

AASAT offers the only Intimacy Anorexia Certification Training in the country. Intimacy anorexia is a relationship disorder where a partner in the relationship withholds emotional, relational, spiritual, or sexual intimacy from their partner or spouse. The AASAT Intimacy Anorexia Training helps you understand the condition of intimacy anorexia and how to rehabilitate couples to allow them to start experiencing intimacy in their relationships.

The entire Intimacy Anorexia Training Course is 30 hours long. The material is presented through DVD lectures and the training workbook and is reinforced through assignments. If you would like to become certified in the field of intimacy anorexia treatment and meet the certification requirements, there is a certification exam you can take which allows you to demonstrate your depth of knowledge of the material.

Types of Certifications

Recovery Therapist:

Recovery Therapist is the professional certification level. This certification level is open to masters level licensed counselors including: Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC), Licensed Marriage Family Counselors (LMFC), Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselors (LCDC), Licensed Professional Counselor - Private Practice (LPCP), Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHC), and Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW).

Types of Recovery Therapists:

  • Sexual Recovery Therapist (SRT)
  • Partners Recovery Therapist (PRT)
  • Intimacy Anorexia Therapist (IAT)

Certification Requirements:

  • Hold a Masters degree from an accredited institute
  • Be a licensed counselor in your state
  • Have verified malpractice insurance
  • Provide three letters of reference
  • Complete 6 months supervision with an approved AASAT supervisor
  • Complete the appropriate AASAT Training
  • Achieve a passing score on the certification exam

Recovery Coach:

Recovery Coach is the certification level for gaining certifications without having the masters degree and licensed counselor requirements. This certification level is open to applicants who complete the AASAT Life Coach training program

Types of Recovery Coaches:

  • Sexual Recovery Coach (SRC)
  • Partners Recovery Coach (PRC)
  • Intimacy Anorexia Coach (IAC)

Certification Requirements:

  • Complete the AASAT Life Coach training program
  • Provide three letters of reference
  • Complete 6 months supervision with an approved AASAT supervisor
  • Complete the appropriate AASAT Training
  • Achieve a passing score on the certification exam

Pastoral Counselor:

Pastoral Counselor is the certification level for clergy members. This certification level is open to applicants who have a masters degree or five years of ordained pastoral experience.

Types of Recovery Coaches:

  • Sexual Recovery Pastoral Counselor (SRPC)
  • Partners Recovery Pastoral Counselor (PRPC)
  • Intimacy Anorexia Pastoral Counselor (IAPC)

Certification Requirements:

  • Hold a Masters degree from an accredited institute or have five years of ordained pastoral experience
  • Provide three letters of reference
  • Complete 6 months supervision with an approved AASAT supervisor
  • Complete the appropriate AASAT Training
  • Achieve a passing score on the certification exam
