Our infidelity counseling sessions are for anyone working through unfaithfulness, extra-marital affairs, adultery and being cheated on. Finding out that your partner or spouse has been unfaithful to you is devastating. Our licensed counselors help you recover from the shock of the unfaithfulness and find hope in the devastation.
Infidelity occurs when a person is unfaithful to their partner or spouse in a relationship where exclusivity is expected. This issue is not just related or limited to physical relationships. Infidelity can happen on different levels including emotional and relational levels and across different mediums including physical, virtual reality and online.
Physical infidelity most often involves pursing intimacy, affection and sexual relationships outside of a monogamous relationship or marriage. Finding out that your partner or spouse has cheated on you physically can make you feel dirty, unwanted, and unloved.
Emotional infidelity is based on creating emotional connections to other people outside of a monogamous relationship or marriage. This type of unfaithfulness can take the form of emotionally bonding, sharing secrets, discussing deeply personal subjects, and spending inordinate amounts of time with another person.
Relational infidelity is the act of creating relationships that are more important than a partner or spouse’s relationship. It involves placing emphasis on taking care of that other relationship and placing their needs above the needs of your partner or spouse.
Infidelity does not have to end your relationship. By remaining committed to each other and by working together, you and your partner can recover your relationship and rebuild your intimacy. Our counselors can work with you together and separately to make sure all of the underlying issues, concerns, and emotions are addressed.
